The Conflict

During the 19th Century, the Spanish Population within the Franco Empire was growing increasingly more and more unhappy with their way of life, and wishing to have the right to free will and to choose their own path to greatness, an uprising quickly started growing.

On April 29th, 1874, a Spanish battalion marched to the French ministry building, now the Imperial Palace in Madrid. They successfully took control of the building, and declared themselves a country.

The War

Not wanting to let this go unheard of, the French immediately sent thousands of men to retake the Ministry building, but every attempt they made of this failed horribly, and more than 14000 French soldiers died during the raid.

From this point forward, the Spaniards kept expanding, and taking key cities such as: Leon, Barcelona and Trevino.

Spain then got itself fully established as a country on November 4th, 1876.

The Aftermath

After the war, there begun a rivalry of technological advances between Spain and France, to see who could best each other.

The only real engagement between French and Spanish troops since then was the Madeira conflict of 1921, where the Spanish were kicked off the island by French troops.
