The Assault on Grantham
The Battle
Grantham was at this time under Fascist control, and the United Kingdom wanted to retake the town because of its significance to the upcoming attack on Doncaster again.
Background
The British needed Grantham to function as a fort / base of operation, to launch an attack on Doncaster again.
Battle
The battle consisted of two different offensives, the first attack on Grantham was brutally supressed by Fascist intrenchments around the place, and fortifications with Anti Tank weaponry.
As the British were pushed further back, the Fascists moved with them, setting up another defensive line further towards North London.
However, as British reinforcements soon arrived, the Fascist were pushed back, and eventually forced to retreat into Doncaster.
Aftermath
After the battle, the stage was set for another brutal attack on Doncaster, this time with more troops than last time, little did anyone know at the time, the next offensive would be the bloodiest of the entire war.
