The Kingdom of Denmark

The Kingdom of Denmark is a country in Northern Europe, situated just above Germany and to the east of England. It has a lot of history and is also known as the most developed country in CWS (judged by landmass)

History

Post-Doomsday (1364 - 1390)

During the time period after "Doomsday" in 1364, what used to be the Kingdom of Thora seized to exist, as rebellion and anarchy took place over the continent. However, soon enough, from the capital of Thora, at the time "Blekinge" a new government started forming. What we know today as Denmark. It remains the oldest country in Europe in CWS.

Grace Years (1391 - 1860)

During the Grace Years, the Kingdom of Denmark did nothing but expand out towards Zealand, Funen and Jutland, as well as taking the provinces of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

CWS 2.0 (1860 - 1880)

During CWS 2.0, Denmark reached it's overall peak of expansion, not only establishing colonies in southern Africa, but also taking on larger feats such as Canada. During this time period however, the Danes were heavily into Socialism, though they quickly gave up on this ideology in 1882, returning to a much more favourable Socialist-Democracy, which they have remained since.

CWS 3.0 (1918 - 1933)

On September 29th, 1918, Denmark annexed the southern provinces of Skåne (Scania) from Sweden, and again on January 18th, 1919, they've claimed majority of Northern Europe as their own. However, around December of 1925, a civil war broke out, and the Nordic Union formed, pushing Denmark back to it's original borders.

On November 3rd, 1926, the Prussians invaded Denmark and one of the most memorable battles happened, the Battle of Kalmar. Denmark would then be annexed fully by Germany and be under German control for the next 4 years.

CWS 9.0 (1936 - XXXX)

On October 30th, 1938, the Danish navy prepared an invasion on the province of Argyll and Bute in western Scotland, and on November 4th, they landed troops in the province.

On February 28th, 1939, the Danish Prime Minister held a referendum with Norway, seeking possible unification, but the scores were not in the Danish favours, scoring only 34.3% wishing to unify.

On March 1st, 1939, Denmark declares war on Sweden, in what would be the shortest war by far (April 3rd, 1939) to regain their lands in Scania, after which they erected the Parliament Building in southern Scania.

On March 4th, 1939, Denmark started their baltic protection program, after buying Saare and Hiiu off of Russia, as well as getting Gotland in the Dano-Swedish War. Establishing multiple forts and bunkers among the islands in the Baltic sea.

Government

Socialist-Democracy

The Socialist Democracy of Denmark is a bit different compared to others, all Military and Diplomatic aspects of the country is controlled by the state, AKA the Prime Minister at the time, whilst other affairs and such are decided by the country and it's population. This gives the population the free choice to vote for their leader, and work with what they want to work with, and equality in the people is highly favourable, as pay gaps are minimal, except for extreme work conditions.

Military

Tank Brigades

The Danish Armor divisions are the main source of protection, focusing more on light armour and speed, compared to the German slow and heavy tanks.

Infantry

The Danish infantry consists of various different troops, but most notably Denmark carries and manufactures their own weapons, namely the LMG Madsen

Buildings

The Great Belt Bridge

The Great Belt Bridge was built during the German occupation of Denmark (1926 - 1930) and was constructed by the Germans. It was built to make it easier to travel from Mainland Jutland and Funen to the east of Denmark, Zealand and Scania.

Esbjerg Church

This church was built back in the 19th Century (No exact date) and was one of the triumphing beacons during the German attack on Denmark in 1926. It gave the Danish soldiers hope and advantage over the German troops, making Denmark hold out just a little further.

Now the church sits as a memorial to those lost that day, still broken as it was during the war with no plans to repair it.

EUC Building

The EUC building is where all the meetings of the European Council took place, it still sees active use, but was mainly used during CWS 3.0.

Viby Lejren

Built under German occupation of Denmark, this was where captured Resistance Movement troops from Norway were kept, before they could eventually be transported by train to Solowice.

The Viby Lejr was actually quickly constructed to house these Resistance members, as Solowice was far from completion at the time of their capture.

Holger Danske Bunker

This was a bunker constructed when Denmark owned the island of Åland in 1934. Denmark quickly lost the island the following year, as the Finnish proved too much of a threat. It still sits on the Island to this day, and more Danish bunkers have somewhat the same idea. ==Notable People==* Holger Danske
